Thinking about adding some new equipment to your collection? Read more to learn all about LED light therapy and the many benefits it can offer your clients!

We all know the sun has health benefits such as vitamin D, lowered blood pressure, and even better sleep. Unfortunately, too much sun can cause problems such as skin cancer and wrinkles.

And it's not always convenient for someone to sit out in the sun since most of us are busy. And not all everyone lives in a place that's sunny or warm most of the time

Thankfully, LED light therapy offers similar benefits to the sun without worrying about clouds, ultraviolet rays or premature aging. And if you own a spa, it's a great marketing tool to bring in more clients.

If you're wondering whether you should consider providing facial light therapy to your clients, keep reading. We're sharing with you all the benefits an LED light mask brings to your business.

How LED Light Therapy Works

LED therapy is a process that emits infrared lights on your face, neck and decollate in different spectrums or wavelengths. The wavelengths differ depending on the type of treatment you want.

In this case, clients use a LED light mask over their face to receive their treatment. The lightwaves sent to your skin triggers reactions in your skin cells at the dermis layer.

Your dermis layer then converts the light into a type of energy that allows your cells to heal your skin. Basically, the facial light therapy acts helps speed up your skins ability to perform its natural functions.

What LED is

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. What it means is that there is a computer chip encased in a glass-like resin. That chip them emits wavelengths (or colors) of light energy to help treat and heal the skin.

Benefits of Four Color Wavelengths in Facial Light Therapy

There are seven different lightwaves that are involved with LED therapy. Each one offers different benefits. Let's take a look at four of them:

Red Light

Clients looking to increase their collagen production should use red light therapy. The red lights increase blood flow to capillaries on the face.

As a result, the skin begins to heal and rejuvenate itself resulting in younger looking skin. Red light therapy is also great for treating scarring and rosacea since the red light can deeply penetrate your skin past the first layer.

White Light

White light is the most powerful of all the LED lights. It penetrates deepest into your skin.

As a result, a client ends up with reduced inflammation and tighter-looking skin. They end up with a smooth, healthy glow which speaks for itself.

Blue Light

Blue lights are the perfect facial light therapy solution for those suffering from acne. The blue light generates a high energy form of oxygen that attacks the acne-causing bacteria found in the skin.

Amber light

Amber light provides similar results to red light therapy, but it's more targeted. Amber light stimulates the elastin and collagen production in the skin.

You may get similar results using red light therapy, but amber light specifically targets the tissue and skin cells that are primarily responsible for giving clients the appearance of younger-looking skin.

Benefits of Facial Light Therapy

LED therapy is helpful for reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps reduce pore size and evens out a client's skin tone.

The result is smoother, brighter looking skin.

LED therapy is incredibly beneficial for clients who just had a peel done. Not only will the LED facial help reduce inflammation, but your client's skin will also end up looking perfect very quickly.

Clients also find that light therapy helps them reduce their SAD (seasonal affected disorder) symptoms during the winter when there is less natural sunlight.

The LED Face Mask is Safe to Use

Some spas offer IPL (intense pulsed light) or laser treatments to achieve the same results. But there are risks involved with laster and IPL treatments such as a risk of burning.

IPL treatments deliver a bright blast of light which can feel uncomfortable or painful to clients. LED treatments, however, do not put your clients at risk of being burned or feeling uncomfortable.

In fact, an LED facial feels very soothing. Clients may feel their mask is warm, but there is no pain involved. You do need to properly protect their eyes from the light while they're having the therapy session.

It's Quick and Easy

Clients are always looking for quick and easy solutions. They want to head into your spa and walk out looking like a million bucks.

LED therapy can leave your client's complexion plumped up with collagen, making them look younger. The new elastin made fro the therapy helps tighten their skin.

And, all of these results come practically instantaneously. There's no downtime so your clients walk out of your spa with visibly noticeable results their friends and family will want to replicate.

Best of all, they can get an LED face mask during their lunch break. Each session is around 20 minutes long.

It's Easy to Find Your Target Market

If you're wondering who you can market LED therapy, it's actually pretty easy. Any client looking to take a few years off their face before they get married, attend a big event or are going to be in front of a camera are your target market.

Anyone suffering from skin damage due to sun exposure or acne are also great clients.

You can also target those who recently lost weight and those who eat a poor diet. Their skin is affected by years of poor lifestyle habits, and their skin will greatly benefit from targeted treatments.

Light Therapy Is an Ongoing Process

Spa owners love offering their clients services that require more than one session. That provides you with repeat business.

While it depends on how healthy your client's skin is prior to treatment, most will see results if they have 20-minute sessions at least two or three times a week for a minimum of four to six weeks.

You may find this isn't long enough and recommend more sessions. And of course, the benefits don't last forever.

The mask I bought did not come with any protocol, no contraindications, and no directions. How do you know what energy setting to use or how long if there’s no guidelines? If you leave it to long or use it too high could you cause damage? These are things you need to know about equipment that were not supplied. Please send me that information. Not just a paper with a little info. Thank you so much!
